As we look at the communities of East Tennessee, Pros to consider might be the lower cost of living. When compared to other states, the cost of living in Tennessee is relatively low. Tax structures favor retirees. The natural beauty of the area is a big plus for everyone. The Great Smoky Mountains, the foothills, the rolling hills and the farmland all bring their special beauty to the area. East Tennessee is a place where you will experience all four seasons, altho typically mild, there can be big weather surprises. Tennessee has room to grow in it’s access to health care across the state along with public transportation so these are things you will want to access as you decide your retirement location.
